The Pulse of Progression, Zwijndrecht’s Street Legacy.

Within Fortlaan 10 in Zwijndrecht, the town’s skatepark has come a long way from what used to be a simple open space with little to do.
For years, local skaters and riders dreamed of a spot where they could meet, practice, and just hang out without being moved along by security or bad weather. That wish slowly gained momentum, and after plenty of community talks and planning, the idea became reality in 2023 with the creation of a modern Urban Sports Park — a fresh, open space designed to bring people together through movement and creativity.
The new Skatepark Zwijndrecht, designed and built by Nine Yards Skatepark Co. now stretches across roughly 750 square meters of smooth, sculpted concrete.
It sits within a much larger sports zone that also includes basketball courts, football pitches, and even a mountain bike trail, giving it the feel of a full-blown recreation hub rather than just a skate spot. The park’s design strikes the perfect balance between street-style obstacles and flowing transitions, offering something for everyone.
Whether you’re rolling in for the first time or perfecting a new line.
What makes this park special isn’t just its layout or quality, but the story behind it. When the first version opened, the local response was so strong that the city decided to double its size during redevelopment, a rare and exciting move that showed how deeply the space resonated with the community.
Today, the park is more than just a place to skate it’s a meeting point, a creative outlet, and a proud symbol of how Zwijndrecht listened to its youth and gave them a place to make their mark.
