Overview:
Out of the box, the Independent Mid Forged Hollows feel light and precise. Classic Indy quality with less weight to lug around. The mid height gives you solid control on flat ground and ledges, and turns are smooth and snappy. Grinds feel locked in, as you’d expect from Indys. One noticeable thing: landings feel a bit hollow, less planted than heavier trucks, so it takes a session or two to get fully dialed in and used to how they feel.
Overall, they feel responsive, ready to handle both street and park right away.
First Impressions
Right out of the box, these felt like Indys should sturdy, clean machining, no gimmicks. The lighter weight is noticeable the moment you pick up your setup, and once you roll, that lower Mid height instantly gives you more control on flat and ledges. Turns are smooth but a bit sharper than the standard highs, like they’re pushing you into tricks quicker. Grinds lock in confidently with no sketchy flex. After a few tries, you can already tell that these are built to handle real skating, not just look pretty on a fresh setup.
Street Performance:
On street, the Mid Forged Hollows feel right at home while light on the feet they are fast to respond. That mid height makes flicks feel snappier and more controlled, especially on tech lines where precision counts. You get great lock-ins on ledges and rails without losing that trademark Indy grind feel. The reduced weight helps with quicker setup between tricks, and they still hold their line when you land a little off. Whether you’re hitting crusty curbs or stretching a backside nose-grind down a long ledge, these trucks keep everything feeling dialed and dependable.
Park Performance:
In the park, these trucks handle transitions like they mean it. The classic Indy turn keeps carving lines smooth, and the mid height gives you a grounded feel when charging walls or setting up for airs. They’re light enough that grabs and spin tricks feel less like you’re swinging a brick around, but still solid on coping, grinds are controlled and don’t chatter out. Whether you’re cruising flow sections or dipping into the deep end, the Mid Forged Hollows keep the response tight and the confidence high.

Durability & Grind Wear:
These trucks deliver serious toughness, forged base-plates and hollow axles mean they’re built to handle heavy landings and daily abuse. From my experience they last months of hard skating with minimal performance drop. Trough time visible grind wear on hangers and base-plate edges comes out which is just part of the ride.
A few noted squeaky bushings or looseness after heavy use, so keep your hardware tight. All in all: strong, dependable, ready for street and park if you maintain them.
In my humble opinion since i prefer a certain comfort with regard to bushings i always change towards bones hardcore hard bushings with any type of trucks I purchase.
Turning & Stability
Independent Mids keep that signature Indy carve smooth, controlled, and confident when you lean in for a line. The mid height gives you a more grounded feel, so you don’t get wobbly when you’re charging tricks or landing a little sketch. They snap back to center quicker than the highs, making tighter turns and fast transitions feel natural. Loose setups still feel predictable, and if you ride them tighter, they’ll track straight without fighting you.
If you want to fine-tune the ride even further, replacing the stock bushings with Bones Hardcore Bushings can make a noticeable difference. They deliver a more responsive turn-in, improved rebound, and long-lasting consistency, giving the trucks a sharper, more controlled feel—especially when pushing speed or dialing in your preferred setup.
Overall: stable where it counts, responsive when you need it, the kind of turn you trust after years on your board.
