Rolling the South: The Heartbeat of Malta’s Skate Community.
Paola Skatepark is a brand-new, community-driven facility created over end of 2023 – March 2024 as part of a push to give Malta a purpose-built, pro-level skate venue (Certified C+) pre-olympics.
The project was championed and promoted by the Malta Street Sports Alliance (MSSA) together with Paola Local Council and Infrastructure Malta, with construction work completed by specialist skatepark builders (Mind Work Ramps & local contractors involved).
Today the park features a mix of bowls, banks, ledges and street lines designed for skateboarders, BMX-ers, scooter & roller crews, and it has quickly become a focal point for Malta’s growing skate scene and for MSSA events. While the surrounding landscaping and final site works continued after the ramps arrived, the park’s arrival marked a clear step toward more permanent, higher-quality skate infrastructure on the island.
